I hail from Fort Smith, Arkansas and graduated in 1995. I spent 8 years being a vet in Australia and one and a half years in Helsinki before coming to work at Acorn in January 2009. I have 2 children and 2 cats.
Dr Debbie Hedges BVM&S, MRCVS
I qualified as a vet in 1997 from Edinburgh University and spent 3 years working in mixed practice in Yorkshire before joining Acorn in 2000. I now work part time, my 2 children keep me busy for the rest of my time.
Dr Mel Pryer BVSc, MRCVS
I qualified from Liverpool University in 1996 and have always worked with small animals. I have been part of the team at Acorn since May 2008 and have a rescue dog and two rabbits.
Dr Rhiannon Mansell BA VetMB MA Cantab MRCVS
Rhiannon graduated from Cambridge University in 2013 and started working in a mixed animal practice in South Wales before coming to work at Acorn. She has a particular interest in ultrasound scanning and feline medicine. Rhiannon has a cat called Tigerlilly, described as a silver tabby and a total princess.
Gemma Scott: Veterinary Nurse
I have worked at Acorn since 1995 and became a qualified Veterinary Nurse in 2000. I have a rabbit called Daisy.
Emma Kelly: Veterinary Nurse
I have worked at Acorn since 1999 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2002. I have 2 children, 2 rabbits, a hamster and lots of fish.
Kim Checkley: Veterinary Nurse
I have worked at Acorn since 2007 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2011 . I have 2 cats.
Rachael Ivey – Veterinary Nurse
Rachael graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary nursing from Middlesex University. She previously worked in a veterinary hospital. Rachael has a cat called Eric whom she has owned for 11 years.
Martin Peters – Veterinary Nurse
Martin qualified at the Royal College in 2014 and worked at the Queen Mother Referral Hospital whilst undertaking his degree. Martin has a big heart and enjoys caring for animals.
Laura Williams – Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Laura has a Veterinary Care Assistant qualification which she gained at Reaseheath College in 2014. She has three Border Collies who are all mad and love chasing balls
I previously worked for a veterinary practice for 14 years, I left in August 2009, and have been working at Acorn since January 2010. I have 4 children and 2 rescue dogs.
Christine Jones: Receptionist
I have worked as a receptionist at Acorn since 2002 and love meeting the clients and their pets.
Liz Davies: Receptionist
I have worked at Acorn for 10 years as a receptionist, I love pets. I have a Border Collie, 2 cats and a horse.
Rachel Gaffikin: Receptionist
Rachel graduated from Sheffield University in 1996. Before joining the team at Acorn she spent nearly 10 years working at a veterinary referral centre running the insurance department. Rachel has a Chocolate Burmese cat that she adopted from the RSPCA when she was 6 months old. She is called Tasmin and she loves playing with string and paper and having lots of fuss.
Emma Kinsey: Auxiliary Nurse
Emma graduated in 2008 with a National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre before turning her attention to the other love of her life – animals. She has a very affectionate black cat called Snoop and 2 crazy guinea pigs called Peanut and Beanz
